The voice caddy really is a great rangefinder, it locks the flag so quickly. Totally agree, for $250 is a no brainer.

What month do new rangefinder models come out?

I have the NX9 and my two gripes are: 1. When there’s light rain or fog, the laser isn’t able to give me distances. 2. I use my phone to get front and back. It’d be nice to have that in one spot. Have you tested any range finders in rainy/foggy conditions?

There's a military and first responders discount for foresight products thats 25% off currently. Its a deal thats hard to beat when it brings the GC3 price down about 2k. Roughly can get an unlocked GC3 for 2k more than a mevo + pro package. So I think I'm going to go with that over the mevo. And the mevo chipping isn't great. I've seen that users have to move closer to the launch monitor for it to read correctly which is a bit annoying. Another downside to the CG3 is that I've heard its hard to get 3rd party software, and can't get face impact detection like the GC Quad has. But face impact is easy enough to work on with tape or a dry erase marker. Mevo seems much easier for 3rd party software but the reputation of foresight is hard to beat.

I played Bandon in the first year that it existed. In my experience Bandon is the best group of golf courses on the planet .To rank a course that unless you’re under 25 is un walkable is foolish . You need a cart to get to the 14th tee box . Then that hole alone should drop that course down . They eventually had to change the green to make it in any way playable . In the first years the caddies explained that it cost twice the amount of money to make the original Bandon course because tried to sculpt the topography with earth movers . Eventually nature took most of the sculpting back to its original shape. Pacific took half the cost …. Pacific might be the best course in the world Breathtaking Beautiful, both playable yet difficult My assessment of the ranking after over 200 rounds played would be Pacific , without question Bandon Trails Sheep ranch Old Mac I’ve stood on an Old Mac green on a windy day and said to myself , if I can only 3 putt this green I’ll be doing well Still … I’ll always count myself lucky as having lived in a time that I got to walk the wonderful piece of earth called Bandon Thanks to memorable caddies Evan, Crazy & John the bap I’ve told your stories , created memories and called you friends And you won’t know my name ……. Luckily I’ve only experienced hearing someone listening to music out loud once here in the uk. Believe it’s banned at most courses here and rightly so imho, have never understood it myself but if you really want to then pop some ear buds in coz no one else wants to hear it. Cheers!

I think it’s best for people who want music to just use AirPods … camping and golf - you don’t need to pump your sick beats out to everyone else

Garmin doesn't track chips and pitch shots using the watch. Which if you're trying to accurately track club distances and SG, basically forced to get CT sensors.

Why would anyone want to have a Bluetooth speaker on a golf course. A player may wish to listen to music but why would the rest want to hear it. Thankfully not a problem in the UK as it is banned at most courses. Te current obsession with music at sporting events is hopefully just a passing phase. If you want music go to a concert!

I will not buy any launch monitor with a forced subscription. Period.

I think as a community we need to make it clear to manufacturers that charging yearly subscriptions to unlock “on box” features isn’t a business practice that should be rewarded. Pay for updates and upgrades? … maybe, but charging 15-20% of purchase price every year just to use basic features? Nah. Mevo offering bolt on features for a one off? I’m ok with that too.

Agree !!! Subscription for using hardware that you already own is a disgrace- especially if it costs nothing to provide that service (it’s different if they provide a bunch of cloud storage and services but they don’t need to for on box functionality). That said the Garmin really doesn’t need the subscription and works the same without it. But when you also have to pay a heap for golf software being charged to just use the hardware you paid for is disappointing, don’t give me updates unless I pay maintenance but give me what I paid for …. Looking at you rapsodo.

Rasodo you have buy price and a lock in 200$ per year to make it work. So if you are spending nearly 2k over 5 years I have to think that the mevo+ would be a smarter choice?

I bought it and often don’t use it just because I don’t want to set it up in the app (I know I’m lazy). To me, the most effective training aid on the market is the Prosendr. Very pricey but worth the investment!

Pueblo Bonita Pacifica is a beautiful resort and the Quivira Golf Club is one of the most spectacular golf courses I ever played. My wife and I were there for a week and didn’t want to leave.

As far as the Ecco shoe comments are concerned, IMO over the past few years Ecco’s aren’t as comfortable as they were in the past. Might just be me, but they once were an elite shoe, and now I don’t find them to be as such.

I wrote the Precision Pro regarding the compatibility of their Titan Elite rangefinder and the Arccos grip sensors and link-pro device, both of which systems use a proprietory android / apple phone app to link to their respective hardware. Precision Pro confirmed in writing that the Titan Elite cannot work simultaneously with Arccos via the phone bluetooth protocols and phone apps (ie. it is a case of choosing one or the other). As I am an avid Arccos user, I will now direct my search to finding an alternate golf rangefinder. Thanks for the recommendation.
